The oath of the silent ranks

The life of a US Marines woman is hard, we wait 3-4 weeks for a call, a month for a letter, and still we press on. Sometimes we break down and feel like quitting, but the other girls pick us up and keep us strong, as we would do for them....This is not an easy life, but it's the only life for me. I love my Marine, no matter how long I must wait, or how many extensions I must sit through. I will go on with life and make you proud. I'm stronger then I was last time you left and I'm only going to get stronger. I may not want you to leave, but I know that you sometimes must. I know you don't want to leave me as much as I don't want to see you go, but that's not our desicion. I will stay strong and only cry when I am alone. I will never show my fear or my worry to anyone, but those who feel the same. I am a member of the USMC Silent Ranks , and it is MY duty to stay faithful, true and loyal to both my Marine and the Corps. and so I shall. I'll wait for what you can tell me and accept the things you cannot. I will be there for you when you get home to talk to, and help you when you have a nightmare at night. I will take care of you when you get the best I can and when I can't I'll find someone that can. I will always be faithful, no matter how long you are gone. This is my job, and my oath as a USMC Wife
